Overview

Ride through the wide-open highlands of the Altos de Jalisco, a region of golden grasslands, volcanic formations, and deep charro tradition.

You’ll be staying at Hotel Puerta del Coche, a quiet countryside property surrounded by fields, stone walls, and rural landscapes—perfect for riders seeking peace, authenticity, and real Mexican countryside charm.

This ride blends excellent horses, scenic trails, warm hospitality, and a sense of rural Mexico rarely seen by international visitors.

Monday – Arrival at El Bajío Airport (BJX) → Lagos de Moreno
Private transfer from BJX to the countryside outside Lagos.
Late lunch at a fine restaurant in town.
After lunch, short walk in the historic center (optional), followed by transfer to Hotel Puerta del Coche, located in a peaceful rural area.
Evening at leisure at the hotel.
Dinner is served at the hotel (included).

 

Tuesday – First Riding Day (3–5 hours)
Introduction to the horses and team.
Gentle ride through grasslands, cactus stands, and rolling hills surrounding the hotel.
This first day is designed to settle into the rhythm of the region and enjoy wide views and quiet countryside.
Picnic lunch on the trail.
Dinner at the hotel.

 

Wednesday – High Country Ride (5–6 hours)
A full day exploring deeper into the highlands: volcanic mesas, distant ranches, traditional charro paths.
Multiple panoramic points perfect for photos.
Field lunch prepared by the team.
Return to the hotel for a relaxed rural evening and dinner.

 

Thursday – Streams & Meadows Ride (4–5 hours)
Ride toward seasonal watercourses where horses drink and riders enjoy a refreshing break under the trees.
This day features some of the most beautiful terrain: open meadows, wide skies, and quiet cattle country.
Lunch on the trail.
Dinner at the hotel.

 

Friday – Optional Day (Ride or Rest)
Option A – Half-day ride
A relaxed ride close to the hotel, ideal for guests wanting extra time in the saddle.
Option B – Rest day
Enjoy the peaceful countryside setting, walk the property, read, journal, or simply relax.
Lunch and dinner at the hotel.

Saturday – Final Riding Day (4–5 hours)
A final scenic loop through the highlands with long views toward the Sierra Madre.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Farewell dinner at Hotel Puerta del Coche.

Sunday – Departure
Private transfer back to BJX airport.
